Seek His Presence- Closer to God Newsletter

It's great you're here today, learning what God's Word can do for you.

If you need a message of hope in your life, today's passage will speak to you.

You may have tried various methods to find help and inspiration in life but keep falling short.

It's ok. The world surrounding us doesn't openly promote turning to scripture to find what we need.

It took me a long time to realize that self-help books and Google searches do not possess the lasting power that God's Word has for my life and future.

I have used today's message theme before, and I believe in its importance. I will continue to share it with you in the future!

The Bible clearly asserts that seeking God should be our top priority. Before anything else, we must turn to Him for guidance and strength.

Let's explore the Old Testament and the prophet Micah, whose words ring true today.

"But as for me, I look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation, my God will hear me. "

Micah 7:7 · English Standard Version

Here's a Brief Background...

The Book of Micah took on issues involving social injustice, corrupt leaders, and the forthcoming judgment, all while injecting themes of hope and restoration.

He was a prophet in the Old Testament during the late 8th century B.C. during the reigns of Kings Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah.

He wrote this passage in a time of discontent where there was moral decay in society and corruption.

Even though times were tough, Micah wrote this declaring his dedication to be faithful and hopeful to God.

Let's Break It Down...

But as for me, I look to the Lord,

This is a choice for everyone. When times get difficult, who do you go to? Is it God? or something else? When you look to the Lord, you put your faith in something eternal, not temporary. God created you; he wants you to look to him.

I will wait for the God of my salvation,

The answers and help we seek often take time; patience is always a part of the process—God's timeframe, not ours. We've all heard the saying, "Good things happen to those who wait."well, it couldn't be more accurate. Our salvation comes from God, and it's worth waiting for.

My God will hear me.

He wants to have a relationship with you and is waiting for you to speak to him. You choose in prayer, meditation, or a quiet walk, and he'll hear you.

Let's Put it into Action...

How can you live this hope in your life? Here are some ideas to get things started...

Live a Life of Hope.

Be encouraged by this verse and share it with others. Hope gets stronger when shared and experienced with someone else. When tough times arise, be that source of encouragement to those around you.

Trust in His Timing.

When we live according to God's timing, patience becomes achievable. Surrender your plans to God, and leave things open to where he will take you. When you give your life and plans over to Him, you create a deep reliance on your faith.

Make His Word a Part of Your Life.

Meditate on today's verse each day. It only takes about 10 seconds to say it. Then, reflect on it. These words are a reminder that no matter how rough it gets, your hope is anchored in God's promises.

To Sum It All Up...

In challenging times, turn to God as your first source of strength.

Seek his presence through heartfelt prayer, insightful scripture, or moments of quiet reflection.

Be patient, as sometimes His plans for you take time to unfold.

Rest assured, you are loved and will receive help in His timing.

God is waiting for you, and He will hear you.

Let's Pray Together...

Dear God, my loving Father in heaven,
Teach me to turn to You in moments of trouble and struggle.

I know that my salvation comes from You and through You alone.

Help me to stay focused on Your truth and not be swayed by the negative influences of the world.

Grant me patience and trust, knowing that You are always near, ready to hear and guide me.

Amen.

My goal and joy will always be to bring you closer to God through His Word.

Please share today's message with a loved one who needs to hear it.

Each day, simply pick up a Bible and start reading. In today's world, His Word is more accessible than ever.

Wishing you a day filled with God’s generous blessings!

May you find joy and inspiration at every turn, guiding you on your journey.

Quentin.

Merry Christmas! For many, this holiday is considered the best of the year, particularly for Christians worldwide, as it marks the birth of Jesus, the savior of humanity. This week, I am stepping away from my usual format of applying a scripture verse to our lives, as it is now the best time to reflect on when the Word became flesh and dwelled among us. Jesus was born and saved us from a life of sin. This means everything to us, as this marks the beginning of Jesus's humble journey. Let's go...

The Christmas season is definitely upon us. Can you feel it? This is a joyous time of year for so many, but this is a hard time to get through for countless others. The stress and consumerism surrounding the next two weeks can be overwhelming and completely overshadow this season's true meaning. For Christian believers, this is when we celebrate the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ by spreading the good news to all who want to hear. This is the ideal time to express our faith and show...

Thank you for taking time today to make God's Word a part of your life. One thing I've experienced in my life is noticing how many people seem so lost at times. They go day to day wondering if what they do makes a difference. Is that you? If so, today's verse will definitely help. When you find yourself lost while trying to reach a destination on a road or trail, using a map or GPS is the most effective method for finding your way. But what about when we are lost in life? What map or advice...
