Divine Approval- Closer to God Newsletter

Let's take some time and discover how God's Word can make a difference in your life.

I'm living proof that everything improves once you start your day with scripture as your guide.

My goal is to bring His Word to you and show how you can apply it to your life.

Today's verse poses a question we need to ask ourselves frequently.

How often have we let other people influence us and change our minds and attitudes?

When we need help or approval, where do we turn?

Human beings? Or our loving Father and Creator?

Let's go to the New Testament and the Apostle Paul for life-changing advice...

" Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."

Galatians 1:10 · New International Version

Here's a Brief Background...

This passage is part of the Apostle Paul's letter to the Galatians, where he confronts an issue within the church where false teachers are influencing members.

These "influencers" were telling the Gentile Christians in Galatia that they had to follow Jewish law to be saved.

Paul was setting the record straight with them, that the way to receive salvation is from their faith in Christ Jesus, not from following the law.

His message was clear: His mission was to follow and serve Jesus, not seek out the approval of people.

Let's Look At It Closer...

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings or God?

This is an honest question to ask yourself every day. Are you putting the approval of people ahead of God? If you genuinely believe in him and want to live according to His Word, his approval is the only one you should seek.

Or am I trying to please people?

We have to realize that approval from others will not lead to ultimate fulfillment. Please God first, then everything else will fall into line.

If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

When we concentrate on pleasing people and the world around us, our beliefs and relationship with God suffer. Only when we seek him first and strive to obey and live by his words will the needs around us be met.

Take Some Action Steps...

It's easy to fall into the trap of putting everything else ahead of God.

Here are some quick suggestions to help us become a servant of Christ...

Prioritize God.

Check in with yourself to ensure your choices and actions align with God's Word and teachings. Seek him out in scripture and with prayer.

Live a Life of Integrity.

Always strive to be genuine and consistent with your beliefs and actions. Make sure how you conduct yourself reflects your faith.

Resist Peer Pressure.

Stand firm against the world's opinions and culture that may lead you away from God. Remember that pleasing God is more important than pleasing people.

Serve Others with a Godly Heart.

Seek out opportunities to serve others, but do it honoring God and not looking for recognition and approval from others.

Putting It All Together...

The Apostle Paul wrote the Galatians because he was concerned that people were listening and adhering to the beliefs and teachings of others instead of listening and following God.

This happens to so many of us every day.

We allow other people and media to distract us from what God intends for us.

I've found by reflecting on His Word every day and applying it to my life, I can make God my priority.

He guides my choices and my path.

The outcome is that being a servant of Christ provides a sense of purpose and fulfillment that greatly surpasses worldly achievement.

You'll find your life heading toward one filled with joy, purpose, and eternal significance.

Here's a Prayer For You...

Dear Jesus, my Lord and Savior,
I long for You to be the center of my life.

Teach me to turn to You above all else.

So often, I chase after the voices of others and the ways of this world for approval, only to find myself empty and unsatisfied.

Guide me back to You, the true source of fulfillment and peace.

Show me the path to salvation through Your grace, and help me to live as Your faithful servant, putting You first in everything I do.

Bless me with Your wisdom and protection, and always keep me close to You.

Amen.

I hope you can relate to this verse today and seek God's approval first.

You'll find everything will become clearer, and you'll have better resolve in the somewhat chaotic world we live in.

Please share today's message with someone who may need to hear it.

I'm praying for you out there!

Have a blessed day.

Merry Christmas! For many, this holiday is considered the best of the year, particularly for Christians worldwide, as it marks the birth of Jesus, the savior of humanity. This week, I am stepping away from my usual format of applying a scripture verse to our lives, as it is now the best time to reflect on when the Word became flesh and dwelled among us. Jesus was born and saved us from a life of sin. This means everything to us, as this marks the beginning of Jesus's humble journey. Let's go...

The Christmas season is definitely upon us. Can you feel it? This is a joyous time of year for so many, but this is a hard time to get through for countless others. The stress and consumerism surrounding the next two weeks can be overwhelming and completely overshadow this season's true meaning. For Christian believers, this is when we celebrate the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ by spreading the good news to all who want to hear. This is the ideal time to express our faith and show...

Thank you for taking time today to make God's Word a part of your life. One thing I've experienced in my life is noticing how many people seem so lost at times. They go day to day wondering if what they do makes a difference. Is that you? If so, today's verse will definitely help. When you find yourself lost while trying to reach a destination on a road or trail, using a map or GPS is the most effective method for finding your way. But what about when we are lost in life? What map or advice...
