Aligned Steps- Closer to God Newsletter

Thank you for being here today.

It's incredible how learning God's Word more intimately is the key to a better life.

In my own experience, even though I had a decent spiritual upbringing, as I grew older, I found myself straying from the life God intended for me.

The world instead taught me to "go it alone" with my decision-making and live with the consequences.

I found myself failing way more than succeeding.

But.... it doesn't have to be that way at all.

Through years of frustration and bad decisions, I found my way back to God.

By listening and applying His Word to my life, everything changed for the better.

Today's verse is an excellent example of how this works. It's short but very powerful.

Let's explore the Old Testament for timeless wisdom and how it can be applied to our lives. It is great advice from a very wise man.

"Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed."

Proverbs 16:3 · New Living Translation

Here's a Brief Background...

The book of Proverbs is a collection of wise sayings from King Solomon.

Solomon was known for his abundant and awe-inspiring wisdom, which he attributed to God's favor.

His wisdom was so renowned that people from all over the world sought his counsel.

So much of this book contains practical advice that has stood the test of time, providing guidance on living a life that pleases God and benefits others.

During Solomon's time, peace and prosperity were themes people strived for in life. His writings struck a chord with those wanting to wisely manage life's practical aspects.

Let's Break It Down...

Commit your actions to the Lord.

"Commit" is the keyword here. It means to promise to give your loyalty and time to a principal, person, or action plan. To fully dedicate yourself and your actions to God.

And your plans will succeed.

When you fully surrender your plans to God and trust in Him, whatever the outcome, things will be better. When your plans align with God's will, it will be your best course of action.

Take Some Action...

It is a simple verse, but it has so much meaning.

How can we commit ourselves to God?

Here are some suggestions to lead your way...

Prayerful Planning.

Begin by offering your plans, goals, tasks, or dreams to God in prayer with sincerity and confidence. Whether it's a significant decision or a daily task, seek His guidance and direction. Prioritize Him and your prayers, confidently knowing this aligns your intentions with His will. Stay positive and enthusiastic about the outcomes!

Trust in God First.

Trusting in Him with your life decisions is the initial step to releasing the burden of feeling alone with your choices. God desires to be with you and guide you towards the right path. It all begins with having absolute trust in Him.

Practice Patience and Gratitude.

Even when things don't go as planned, stay patient and positive. Remember, there may be valuable lessons and experiences waiting for you. Thank God for guiding you. Keep an open heart and mind!

Be Open to Change.

At times, God's plan for us may not align with our own, but being open to redirection and trusting in His wisdom leads to greater fulfillment and unexpected blessings.

To Sum it All Up...

When we wholeheartedly devote ourselves to our loving Father, we embrace the understanding that His guidance may not always follow a straight path from point A to point B.

Surrendering our plans to God aligns them with His will, increasing their likelihood of success. Embracing His guidance leads us to fulfilling and purposeful outcomes.

Before making hasty decisions and diving into the situations life presents us, it's important to pause.

Take time to pray to God, ask for inspiration, and fully trust Him.

Remember, success comes when our actions and choices align with His plan for us.

Here's a Prayer For You...

Dear Heavenly Father,

I humbly come before You, laying my plans at Your feet. I seek Your guidance and direction in all that I do.

Help me to trust You wholeheartedly, knowing that Your ways are higher than mine.

I pray that my plans align with Your will and that you grant me peace and patience as I navigate life's decisions.

Lead me in every step, Lord, and fill me with Your divine wisdom. Let Your presence guide my heart and mind so I may walk in faith and purpose, always in step with You.

Let Your will be done in me and through me, Lord.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

When you walk with God, amazing things will happen.

It did with mine.

Take into account that achieving success and purpose in life may require many detours, but it may be part of a more excellent plan.

Including him in your plans opens the door to a journey filled with greater possibilities and inspiration.

Thank you again for your valuable time today to read this message.

Please share this verse with others who need to hear it.

I'm praying for you out there; please pray for me.

Have a blessed day out there!

Merry Christmas! For many, this holiday is considered the best of the year, particularly for Christians worldwide, as it marks the birth of Jesus, the savior of humanity. This week, I am stepping away from my usual format of applying a scripture verse to our lives, as it is now the best time to reflect on when the Word became flesh and dwelled among us. Jesus was born and saved us from a life of sin. This means everything to us, as this marks the beginning of Jesus's humble journey. Let's go...

The Christmas season is definitely upon us. Can you feel it? This is a joyous time of year for so many, but this is a hard time to get through for countless others. The stress and consumerism surrounding the next two weeks can be overwhelming and completely overshadow this season's true meaning. For Christian believers, this is when we celebrate the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ by spreading the good news to all who want to hear. This is the ideal time to express our faith and show...

Thank you for taking time today to make God's Word a part of your life. One thing I've experienced in my life is noticing how many people seem so lost at times. They go day to day wondering if what they do makes a difference. Is that you? If so, today's verse will definitely help. When you find yourself lost while trying to reach a destination on a road or trail, using a map or GPS is the most effective method for finding your way. But what about when we are lost in life? What map or advice...
